With Mother’s Day approaching, it was the mothers who delivered all the drama on this week’s Dynasty, and poor Fallon had to deal with both of them. And to make matters worse, there was actually one person connected to both mothers that made things even stickier.
Still reeling from seeing her mother with her face, Fallon decreed to Alexis that they would never be seen in public again. Or in private for that matter since Alexis had been holed up in her loft and Fallon was happy for her to remain there. But Alexis actually did the noble thing and made an appointment to see about having some alterations made to her face. The doctor, however, was taken aback because she’s healed nicely and they gave her just what she ordered.
Wait what? Alexis was perplexed by that because she never placed an order for her surgery. But the doc let slip that Adam gave them a photo to work from, not knowing that it was Alexis’ daughter but if being pushed into a fireplace — and for some reason Alexis said she deserved that for not being there for Adam — wasn’t enough of a red flag, the fact that he was behind her new face was all kinds of alarming. But in the end, Alexis made the right decision and told Fallon she’s jetting off to Europe to meet with the finest plastic surgeons and get some work done. The question now is will she come back with a completely new face, or will Nicolette Sheridan return? (And you don’t pull a stunt like this unless you really plan for the original actor to come back.) Alexis also gave Fallon a warning that Adam is much worse than they ever imagined and to be very careful (she did say he was responsible for the face but left out the part about pushing her in the fireplace).
But Alexis wasn’t the only mother Fallon had to deal with as Liam’s mom showed up to sue to stop the publication of his book because it slandered her — even though it was fiction — and to break up the budding romance between he and Fallon, going so far as to pull out the Big C card: Cancer. Liam, of course, felt terrible and wanted to spend as much time with his ‘dying’ mother as he could, but Fallon — and the rest of us — didn’t buy for a second that she was sick.
But knowing that bringing this up to Liam right off the bat would be detrimental to their relationship, she took the high road and took Laura for a spa day to ‘mend fences’. Except this wasn’t an ordinary spa, more of a science lab where they did things with electric stimuli and cleaned the blood … which was exactly why Fallon took her there. Paying the attendant to give her the vial of Laura’s blood, Fallon hoped to prove the woman wasn’t undergoing chemo as she claimed.
Showing up a the launch party for Liam’s book — which had almost been scuttled after someone took a photo of Liam and Fallon kissing, destroying all the publicity they had built around the book claiming it was about his ex — Laura and Fallon caused a very public scene which lead to Fallon exposing Laura’s lie about being sick, but Laura countered with Fallon stealing the blood of a dying woman. It was enough to push Liam into a decision to go to New York with his mom for a while until things settled down. But Fallon had the proof that Laura’s blood was clean and she gave her an ultimatum: admit to Liam that she lied or Fallon would give him the proof herself which would destroy their relationship. Laura wisely chose to come clean to Liam and he had to apologize to Fallon for not believing her in the first place. At least the whole thing with Laura didn’t hurt their relationship. I was worried that Liam would side with his mother and the truth would never come out. But what Fallon didn’t know at that moment was that Laura had an accomplice.
And that leads us to the Adam problem. I’m not sure why they’ve decided to make Adam so despicable but it’s becoming almost original Cristal unpleasant to watch. He killed the woman he thought was his mother, he pushed Alexis into the fireplace, he directed the doctors how to reconstruct her face, he’s put some kind of poison into the paint that was used to paint Jeff Colby’s office that is having a severe effect on his mental and physical health, and now he’s exposed as the person who took and sold the photo of Liam and Fallon to the tabloids, AND was behind Laura’s cancer scheme! O.G. Adam was a bad dude but he was never this reprehensible. I can’t fathom how on earth they’re ever going to be able to redeem or reel in his behavior. Someone with that track record can’t get away with it for much longer, and now that Fallon knows about the photo, Alexis’ face, and his cozying up to Laura, there will almost certainly be hell to pay.
The next episode will have an exciting new addition to the cast, perhaps permanent — Dominique Devereaux herself will make her first appearance (in the form of Michael Michele).
And for the second week in a row we have to ask: Where’s Kirby?
