Let’s Talk About ‘Vicious Vendetta’:

  • The big day is here but one RSVP to the wedding of Alexis and Dex is conspicuous in its absence.
  • Liam and Fallon begin to audition surrogates who have more demands than the parents-to-be.
  • Adam overhears a conversation that he might be able to use to screw with Amanda.
  • Ever-thoughtful Blake suggests Fallon’s ‘baby fever’ has taken the edge off of her business acumen..
  • Someone has committed the heinous crime of dismantling and burning the Carrington family crest that hung at the family compound.
  • Dominique needs friends and enemies to pull some strings to get her fashion designs noticed by Nordic Star airlines.
  • Guests invited and not waltz past the guards at the least secure building in all of Atlanta to stir up trouble — and make deals — at the wedding.
  • Sam has a lead on the culprit sending a message to the Carringtons.

The big day is upon us! The nuptials of Alexis and Dex. But will it be a nice day for a White Wedding, or will it turn into one big Red Wedding, another Moldavian Massacre? That’s certainly the vibe the writers are trying to give us with lost of references to chaos and a huge gathering of most of the main characters, even those who aren’t supposed to be there like Blake and Cristal, Kirby and Dominique. As viewers who know classic Dynasty, we know all about that blood-soaked wedding so for most of the episode we’re left wondering who will live and who will die. Of course none of the regulars will get taken out, but it would be truly shocking if someone like Dex ended up sacrificing himself for Alexis. But we won’t know until we get to the end what will happen.

Leading up to the big day, Liam and Fallon are interviewing potential surrogates and none of them are really up to snuff … and none of them should even be considered for surrogacy. One told the parents-to-be that she won’t do a Saturday birth because she has a life too. But they finally find someone who seems perfect — although too good to be true? Fallon, however, has her mind set on ‘the best surrogate in Atlanta’ (Jeff questions how that is even determined) now that she’s available and Liam is willing to at least meet with the woman. But Fallon has to run off to take care of a business deal to acquire a streaming service … which she totally flubbed while focusing on the surrogate. Blake seemed to take some joy in telling her that the deal she was going for had gone to another company and then helpfully laid the blame for her forgetfulness on her focus on becoming a mother. You know, because women can’t be mothers and businesspeople at the same time. Of course that just makes Fallon even more determined to prove her father wrong.

Amanda is still trying to keep her relationship with Kirby on the down low, and she had to keep Adam from spotting Kirby in her room when he came to tell her he signed his paperwork to exit the Chief of Staff spot at the hospital. After she shooed him away, Amanda had to get ready for the wedding but she just could not bring Kirby as her plus one because Alexis would flip out. What they didn’t know was that Adam was still outside the door eavesdropping and now he knows about them. He also knows that Amanda has to make a quick trip back to England but she isn’t bringing Kirby because she’s just staying at the airport hotel and isn’t making this a vacation. Amanda then overhears one of the staff confirming Amanda’s reservation at some swanky hotel, and then Juliet Roses arrive for her with a card saying the sender couldn’t wait to see Amanda and it was signed XO. With Amanda going to such great lengths to keep Kirby hidden, she now thinks Amanda’s trip is actually to rekindle her relationship with her ex. Talking to Culhane about this, Kirby revealed that Juliet Roses are her favorite flower … and he had no idea even though they were once romatically involved. But saying to him that boyfriends don’t pay attention, something sparked in her mind and she knew exactly where the flowers came from.

As Alexis went over the wedding guest list, there was one conspicuous absence — Dex’s father. Dex brushed it off saying they had a falling out over his business decision to not stay with the family company, so Alexis went to meet with Samir to ask him to come for his son’s sake, don’t let business get in the way of family. Samir said he had no issue with Dex, his issue was with her and her behavior during her divorce from Blake, which Blake happily related to him. Alexis said that was the old her and to please give her a chance, and then she had to ask Blake to please tell Samir the things he said were not true. And to do that he and Cristal now had to come to the wedding. Blake, however, had another major issue to deal with — someone sent him the Carrington family crest from their compound, torn apart and set on fire. Sam thought he had an idea of who may be behind the vandalism and the message the destroyed crest was meant to send so he paid a visit to … Claudia Blaisdel! That’s a deep dive. But Claudia, doing her time and working in a position of overseeing other inmate out in the field, seems to be doing fine and completely innocent of all the charges Sam laid on her. He was convinced enough to admit he was wrong. But was he? After he left, Claudia called someone and said she was going to need some help to carry out her plan and the perfect place is … Alexis’ wedding.

As the clock counted down to the ‘I do’s’, Fallon needed them to hurry things along so she could meet with a popular artist on the streaming service she was hoping to buy to convince her to move her catalog of music to Fallon’s new platform. Through some clever manipulation, the woman agreed which devalued the service Fallon wanted to buy and allowed her to make a bid $25 million less than what she previously bid, and once she acquired the company, the artist would rejoin the platform for a nice $25 million bonus. A win for everyone except the seller. Dominique also showed up uninvited to corner Samir, who is an investor in Nordic Star, hoping he will help get her portfolio in front of those who need to see it. But he has nothing to do with that, and he tells her if her designs were good enough, they would be seen. She tries to play the damsel in distress, on Culhane’s advice because men like Samir like the power of helping those they can look down on, but she can’t do it and insults him instead … which brings Alexis over to escort Dom out but instead they get into a fight and Dom’s portfolio goes over the balcony railing. The fight was not a good look for Alexis though because Samir had only come after Blake told him that her behavior during the divorce was because she was an alcoholic with rage issues. Now he sees she really has not changed and he leaves the party.

Another uninvited guest shows up — does this building not have any security? — and it’s Claudia, bearing a gift for the bride. A coffee mug she made in prison. It was a weird gesture but it was certainly designed to prove to Blake, Cristal (and this Cristal never met Claudia, whose last appearance was in 2018 with Cristal 2.0) and Sam that she was innocent. Claudia said bye to them but it isn’t clear if she actually left the party or if she was waiting for what was to come. Another uninvited guest had also arrived — Kirby, there to apologize for her paranoia and to reveal that she knows Adam was behind everything … she even bribed to florist to tell her who sent the flowers, but now she gets why Amanda is trying to keep them a secret and she’s okay with it. But while Alexis and Dex are enjoying their night, Amanda decides now is the time to announce her relationship with Kirby. Then Adam decides to let everyone know he’s basically invented the Fountain of Youth. And Fallon decided to tell everyone they found the perfect surrogate … even after telling Liam earlier their business was private but she got caught up in the moment.

But after the ceremony was over and after Alexis had her scene with Dom, and she realized all of her children are narcissists, Blake and Cristal felt it was time to go. Alexis hoped he would try to talk with Samir again but he told her not to worry, that he’d eventually come around because he loves his son. And then Blake actually … congratulated Alexis on her marriage. But as he and Cristal waited for the elevator, it opened and a mass of armed men stormed in mowing everyone down … okay, nope, there was no Moldavian-style wedding massacre (and I should have realized that with recent tragic events, they would have put the episode on hold for a couple of weeks if there was a mass shooting). It was just a man, someone Blake was not happy to see and knowing immediately that it was he who destroyed the family crest. As he hauled off and punched the guy in the stomach, Cristal tried to stop further assault and asked who this man was. He gathered himself from the punch and introduced himself … as Blake’s brother Ben. Cue the OG Dynasty theme music (that was pretty cool)!
