Coming towards the end of November, the week of the 17th may have included Thanksgiving depending on the year, so there is very little in the way of new TV premieres. Only two decades featured new TV shows during this week so let’s take and look and see if you remember any of these shows.

1959

  • No new series premiered this week in 1959.

1969

  • No new series premiered this week in 1969.

1979

  • No new series premiered this week in 1979.

1989

  • No new series premiered this week in 1989.

1999

  • November 20 — Animated series NASCAR Racers debuts as part of the FOX Kids block. The series followed two rival NASCAR teams, Team Fastex and Team Rexcor. competing in the futuristic NASCAR Unlimited Division. 26 half hour episodes were produced by Saban Entertainment over two seasons. The series premiered with a three-part TV movie on November 11, 1999 before beginning its proper run. The last episode was broadcast on March 24, 2001, and reruns appeared on Disney’s Jetix after the company’s purchase of the Saban library.

2009

  • November 22 — Paranormal reality series The Haunted debuts on Animal Planet. The series featured ghost stories and paranormal investigations involving animals, incorporating actual footage and photographs from the families involved. The show ran for three seasons and produced 26 episodes, the last airing on May 13, 2011. Reruns have been broadcast on Destination America.
