As we head deeper into the Fall, we’ll see fewer new series making their debuts. This week only four of the last seven decades saw premieres, and of those only 2012 had multiple series debuting, mainly to feed cable networks. 1952’s The Jane Froman Show was actually known as USA Canteen when it premiered, and for the rest of the first season it was titled Jane Froman’s USA Canteen before assuming its more well-known title for the remainder of the series’ run.
1982’s The Quest was cancelled after only half of its nine episodes had aired, while 2002’s Ally McBeal wannabe, Girls Club did air its nine, and only, episodes. 2012 brought us six new series and one mini-series, and of the six shows only two had multiple seasons, and of those only one is still on the air today having jumped across three different corporate-related networks, becoming the most successful reality series on Paramount Plus. Read on to see if you remember most of these forgotten shows, and share your favorite memories in the comments section below.
