Impossible Pictures

Three decades this week saw the premieres of new series, ranging from animated to news to reality, with very few of them surviving beyond their first seasons … or first few episodes. 1993’s longest running show — just a little over a year — was a game show adaptation of a very popular board game. 2003 gave us a TV movie finale to a popular three season kids series, and a series of animated segments produced for a different show repackaged as its own series. Sixteen new series debuted in 2013, including a morning news show that is still on the air today, although under a different title, and a reality series that is also still running. Only one other reality series ran for two episodes, with the rest having single season runs. Read on to see what shows have anniversaries this week and tell us if your favorites are on the list!
