What a failure of an interpretation of a movie. The characters are so nuanced that you don’t know at the end who the “better person” truly was between the two flawed choices the sheltered woman had. It was incredibly well done. But good job bud, “critiquing”.

Entertainment is certainly subjective, and we are free to agree to disagree without disparaging someone's opinion as being terrible simply because there is a difference of said opinion. Even you say it's not going to appeal to everyone. So this is my opinion, and it didn't appeal to me on first viewing. Comments and critiques are welcome, but when you start out right off the bat with an insult, it makes me less interested to see what else you have to say in defense of the movie. Apologies for the plot error.

Sorry, but I have to say the quality of your review is worse than the rating that you gave this movie. You mentioned, in error, that his Doctor released him. Actually, Temple told someone to tell the doctor (snarkily) that he got better and then left.

You didn't seem to notice or mention that the film actually has it's own atmosphere and style although it really stands out after repeated viewings. The part where he kidnaps Lee and buttons her into his convertible is kind of fun. The movie's feel changes when he brings Lee to his friend who was a reasonably good character. The melting of the silver trophies and designing crude alien detectors was also fun and somewhat inventive. Upon my first couple of viewings, I thought the music was a poor choice but I now realize that what I thought was just avant-garde was actually very well put together. It was also a large part of the atmosphere I mentioned. Also, I thought the fight scene was quite good. There were a few other bright spots here and there. Not the greatest film and I wasn't thrilled with the ending scenes on the moon mostly due to the palid slitheriness of the leader. But hey, it actually had a good outcome. So, I mostly feel you were too quick to dismiss this film but then again, it's not going to appeal to everyone.

Yeah, I'm just starting to watching but immediately it's a bit frustrating. Like the review above says, the title makes no sense. It's called The Couple Across The Street but there is no couple across the street -- they're next door ! How do you make that mistake ?
