The past has come back to haunt Blake and Fallon in a big way, and Sam also finds a skeleton in a closet of his new hotel (well, technically it was a secret room … and there was no skeleton, darn it) which may have a big impact on the business. But Sam and Anders will be able to turn it all around, right?
Blake seems to be in some deep — you know what — after his arrest for the murder of Mac, but that seems to be the least of his worries as a winery is going on the block, one of the last Carrington properties, and he needs Cristal and Sam to put a stop to the sale. But he really has bigger concerns, namely someone selling damaging stories about Blake to the tabloids. Now who could that be? Oh, yeah, Dominique. You’d think she’d be happy to sit back and get a monthly check from her half-brother, but she has her sights set on taking it all … but new Cristal issues a threat that if she doesn’t stop with her shenanigans, those sizable checks will. She promptly cancels her interview.
In jail, Blake was surprised but not surprised to find out his cellmate was none other than Michael Culhane. He and his group of ‘friends’ are doing all they can to push Blake’s buttons. The constant taunting, however, finally pushed Blake to make a threat towards Culhane, admitting that he killed Mac and he’ll do the same to Culhane if he doesn’t shut his mouth. The inmate on the top bunk heard everything and in court the next day, the judge told Blake he was going nowhere due to new evidence that had been presented against him. Shocked by the turn of events, Blake sees Culhane and the bunkmate in the courtroom … and the bunkmate is an undercover cop. So Blake was basically set up to extract a confession … isn’t that entrapment or something? There’s got to be some kind of legal technicality here that will spring Blake from the pokey.
There is a war brewing between Cristal and Adam. About that winery, Cristal learned that the meeting had been rescheduled, after the fact, leaving Adam to take care of business — since he’s an actual Carrington — and getting himself named CEO to stop the sale. Being called Blake’s ‘girlfriend’ pushed Cristal’s buttons, so after Blake was returned to prison she surprised him with … a wedding. Marching herself back to the manor, where Adam felt he was sitting pretty at Blake’s desk because he knows Blake wants a Carrington running things, she informs him that Blake wants his wife in charge but as Blake hasn’t yet notified Adam of any changes, she’s willing to let things stand as they are. For now. And the new Mrs. Carrington is also more than happy to let Dominique know that, even though there is a story about Blake in the media that is sure to destroy him and she will take the lead on handling the media, his wife is more than capable, and more powerful, than Dominique. So another shot fired in that brewing war.
Culhane has apparently been released from prison due to his help in getting the dirt on Blake and when he returns home he’s surprised to find Kirby has moved herself in. He did tell her she could crash there when he learned she had been kicked out of the manor and was basically homeless, sleeping at Fempirial and using the shower at Sam’s hotel gym — which is now under reconstruction — but he probably didn’t expect to be home so soon (and it was never made clear what his prison situation was) and to find his place pretty much redecorated. But Kirby did steal Blake’s chess set, her version of an eye for an eye.
Sam’s hotel remodel is underway and a huge gala is in the works for the reopening, that is until he finds a previously unknown room behind a wall, the office of the building’s original architect. Anders calls in a friend from the historical society and she is adamant that nothing in the room can be touched because of its value. Sam is still moving ahead with the gala until he learns from the architect’s granddaughter that the man was a very vocal proponent of gay conversion therapy. The historical society is all lined up to make a huge presentation about the discovery of the room, but how can Sam go ahead with honoring a man like this?
And Fallon is dealing with her own legal issues, namely her involvement in lying about what happened to Trixie. She hopes that her attempts to unburden herself will play favorably with the judge and it does. She gets a slap on the wrist, 100 hours of community service and an admonishment to use her wealth and influence for the better of the community. Thanking the judge, Fallon dashes out of court and back to the hospital where she not only has to fend off Liam’s ex, but his darling mother has returned to make sure he doesn’t remember his relationship with Fallon. Fallon took it upon herself to take Liam — in a wheelchair and in his hospital gown — to the place where they first met to jog his memory. She’s even wearing the same outfit (gasp!) and he does get flashes of memory, but that doesn’t mean he remembers his feelings for her. Mother shows up and the two tussle over Liam until he’s had enough of them both. After her court hearing, Fallon arrives at the hospital to find mother and a police officer outside Liam’s door, a restraining order in hand. Fallon is forbidden from being within fifty feet of Liam’s mother, or Liam when she’s with him which she assures Fallon will be constantly. The officer even has a digital tape measure that he will point at Fallon when he sees her that will beep if she is less than fifty feet away. If she violates that space, mama will have no choice but to report Fallon, get her community service revoked and send her to jail. Fallon lets her know that it make take time for Liam to remember how much he loves her, but it will only take minutes to remember how much he hates his mother, leaving the hospital exclaiming, ‘Beep you, bitch!’
With wars brewing on all fronts now, the biggest question is when will Jeff Colby be resurrected?
