After months of silence, Netflix finally revealed one of the worst kept secrets in Hollywood — Gilmore Girls is indeed coming back. Series stars Lauren Graham, Alexis Bledel, Scott Patterson and Kelly Bishop have all signed on for the revival, as well as Sean Gunn and Keiko Agena. No word on if Melissa McCarthy might drop by. It was assumed she’d be unavailable due to her Mike & Molly commitment, but with that show’s recent cancellation anything is possible.

The Palladinos, Amy Sherman and Daniel, will also be returning to, as a Warner Bros. Television executive hinted, give the show the proper closure that they had always wanted to do (the duo famously left the series prior to its final, unsatisfying for fans, season).

The new series, tentatively dubbed Gilmore Girls: Seasons, will consist of four 90-minute episodes each taking place during one season over the course of a year. The show will pick up in the present, or about eight years after the series ended. Netflix has not announced any premiere date or how the show will roll out. Production is scheduled to begin February 2.
